Haramain High Speed Railway (Jeddah Station)
Idea
The railway station's design concept is based on erecting a massive edifice to house all of the station's activities and functions. The visual configuration of the structure is based on the metaphor of the palm tree as a system comprised of a fundamental mast filled with a construction framework that supports the roof.
The station's powerful block and its look with glass-framed contracts that create the building's front with the addition of sun blockers demonstrate the decade's top half as a decorative "language" that adds to the building's richness and local growth.
While the aesthetic elements are reproduced throughout the structure, they all work together to form a visual impression of the open "journey hall" function, which combines all functions into one available scene.
Concept
The Palm's fundamental design philosophy inspires the project's design philosophy, but more deeply, as the philosophical abstraction was based on the units in the Palm's trunk and transformed into Islamic motifs. Design suggestions for the Haramain train project were made in various station areas. The designs modernize the Islamic character.
